Different strokes for different folks. There are a number of factors that determine what makes a song our most loved. It could be that the song reminds you of something spectacular during your childhood, or brings back the memory of one of the best times in your life. It could be because of the soundtrack alone. The bottom line is, there is something that makes a song our favorite.

Music is considered as one of the best foods for our souls. It is very rare for anyone not to like music. Music is LIFE!!!!!!

Oh! You think the most successful people don't have time to listen to music? You are wrong. Some even listen to music while working. There must be something special music does to them - it could be either for relaxation or to psych themselves up. We shall be going through a list of some successful people in the world, and the songs they like most.

1. Tim Cook

For those of you who don't know who Cook is, he is the CEO of Apple. Judging by an appearance on Carpool Karaoke, Tim’s favorite band is One Republic. He also likes listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's ‘Sweet Home Alabama’.

2. Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell is a music mogul, so when it comes to music approval, you'll hardly find one  more well-informed than Cowell's choice. On Desert Island Discs, Simon revealed his most preferred song - or at least one of them- as ‘Mack the Knife’ by Bobby Darin.

3. Michelle Obama

Michelle is the former First Lady and wife of Barack Obama. She has made it known that she's into music big time. She attends music concerts in the United States, and has some pro musicians as friends. According to Billboard, one of Michelle's favorite songs is ‘Uptown Funk’ by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars.

4. Christiano Ronaldo

Many football players are big fans of music, and Christiano is no exception. He is always seen wearing a headset during his leisure time, or while traveling. He's deeply connected to RnB music and sometimes rap. According to Sports Googly, Ronaldo's favourite song is ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ by R. Kelly.

5. Arianna Huffington

Arianna Huffington is a successful businesswoman who loves listening to music. In 2014, she created a Spotify Playlist featuring a list of some of her favorite songs, and shared it on Twitter. Among the songs are ‘Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty, and ‘Working On A Dream’ by Bruce Springsteen.

6. Bill Gates

Even the richest man in the world has time to spare for music. This tells you how much importance music plays in our lives. Bill Gates is the co-founder of Microsoft. He would take these eight tracks to a desert island - ‘One’ by U2, ‘Are You Experienced’ by Jimi Hendrix, ‘Under Pressure’ by David Bowie & Queen, ‘My Shot’ by Hamilton, ‘Blue Skyes’ by Willie Nelson, ‘How Can Love Survive’ by Sound of Music, ‘Sing’ by Ed Sheeran, and ‘Two of Us’ by The Beatles.

7. Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty likes being woken up by the Piper to the Sovereign, who is present every weekday to play for around fifteen minutes. However, she is not a big fan of modern music. According to radio DJ Chris Evans' friend, at a Windsor Castle party, ˜Dancing Queen’ by ABBA was played. The Queen remarked, "I always try to dance when this song comes on, because I am the Queen and I like to dance."

8. George Clooney

According to Houston Press, George Clooney is a huge fan classic pop ballads. ‘Destination Moon’ by Dinah Washington is his all-time favorite track. The late singer and actress Rosemary Clooney was his aunt.

9. Serena Williams

This is another sports person that loves music. According to ESPN, tennis star Serena Williams is likely to have ‘MMMbop’ on her phone, and each time she needs strength to go through a tough workout, she increases the volume of ‘Fame’ by David Bowie.

10. David Beckham

Although David Beckham married a Spice Girl, the group was not on the list of Beckham's Desert Island Discs selections. Instead, the ex-football icon opted for ‘No Es No Lismo’ by Alejandro Sanz, - Something About The Way You Look Tonight’ by Elton John, and ‘Wild Horses’ by The Rolling Stones.

11. Theresa May

Theresa May is the Prime Minister of Britain. She also likes ABBA. Some time ago when on Desert Island Discs, she also picked ‘The Queen of the Night’ by Mozart, and ‘Walk Like a Man’ by the Broadway Production Jersey Boys.

12. Andy Murray

It should be obvious by now that sportspeople find something in music. It probably gives them strength and zest each time through all those training hours. Andy Murray is the world #2 tennis player. Some time ago, he tweeted how did this song not make it to #1....., referring to ‘Chandelier’ by Sia. According to the BBC, Murray also likes Eminem, AC/DC, and Ed Sheeran.

13. Angelina Jolie

Some people are strongly influenced by music, and Angelina Jolie is one of them. In an interview some years ago, she talked about what music does to her. In her own words, "I need classical music, but I have to be careful what I listen to." This actress tattooed on her back ‘Know Your Rights’, which is the title of a song by a favorite band, The Clash.

14. Jeremy Corbyn

For those who don't know Jeremy Corbyn, he is a British politician and current leader of the Labour Party, the opposition party since 2015. In an interview with NME, Corbyn admitted that he liked Oasis more than Blur, and his favourite song of all time is ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon.

15. Judi Dench

Dame Judi Dench is a famous English actress and author, who has featured in numerous films and TV shows. She is also a staunch music fan. On Desert Island Discs, Dame Judi selected ‘I've Got You under My Skin’ by Frank Sinatra, and ‘Strange Fruit’ by Billie Holiday as being among her most loved songs.

16. Megan Fox

Megan Fox is an American model and actress that has been in the entertainment industry since 2001. Of course, she has a favorite track. According to ShortList, Megan's favorite tune is  ‘House of the Rising Sun’ by The Animals.

Music has a way of affecting our mood in a positive or negative way. We need to be careful with the songs we listen to, and stay away from ones that bring back awful memories. Having said that, music is life, and you’ll find a person alive who doesn't get moved by at least one particular song. According to most freelancers that work online, they are always listening to music while working.
