Hello Designers!

We are looking for up to three new and original designs of concrete pendant lamps (shades).

Each winning design will be rewarded with a €50 prize! You can submit as many proposals as you wish to increase your potential gain.

Modern loft design style is desired.
Simplicity and uniqueness is the ideal combination we are hunting for.

Each design should meet following criteria:
- minimum wall thickness: 12 mm (thickness to be increased towards the top mounting point in order to strenghten the body)
- maximum dimensions („flat” design): height: up to 150 mm; diameter OR width/depth: up to 250 mm
- maximum dimensions („slender” design): height: up to 250 mm; diameter OR width/depth: up to 150 mm
- upper mounting (vertical) hole diameter: 10 mm (9.6 mm diameter threaded pipe to be inserted into the hole to mount the bulb socket – see the attached picture for reference)
- inner space sufficient to instal bulb socket (outer dimeter of 38 mm) with a bulb (outer diameter of 55 mm) - see the attached picture for reference
- mouldable shape allowing liquid concrete to fill entire mold with gravity only
- after moulding it must be possible to open a mould and displace inner part of a mould (demoulding)
- weight of a concrete pendant to be assumed – the lamp should be safe to hang

Design proposal presentation: 3D models presented as JPG flat pictures (2-3 angle views per design).

Awarded proposal shall be delivered as 3D design file as well as CAD file with all dimensions.

Any popular file formats would work.

Designer shall guarantee that the delivered proposal is genuine.

Here only concrete can be considered for a lamp body.

And answering another question from some of you - moulds will be made of silicone or polyurethane, so the mould surfaces will be plain and smooth. If you believe some texture should be added, this must be built into the 3D design.
