I would like to update my business logo, I like Icon based logos but I wouldn't restrict it to that and would consider any ideas. It is a photography business but I'm not looking for any graphics involving cameras or shutters I could change my mind on that but would prefer to see something a bit different from the normal photographer logos out there. Avant Guard and creative ideas.
We specialise in School Photographs and in the past have used "Fearnley Creative School Photography" but I would welcome any suggestions on this as well. I would like to freshen things up. The logo would be used on websites and a range of company clothing.

If you plan to eventually expand from doing only school related photography, go for a logo that's clean, modern & minimalist .. it adds more professionalism to your portfolio & serves for future expansion from "school, kids" related photography, besides serving as a subtle non-intrusive watermark, rather than a busy one. You do not need to have kids & child-like elements to get a professional logo. This is my opinion based on some of the entries I'm seeing .. some of which have been clearly ripped off of google
