Opis Konkursu
I am publishing the first book in a three-book series and need artwork for the cover for the first book. The book will be in the 9" x 6" size.
I only need the artwork. All of the title, spline and misc. text will be applied over the artwork.
My instructions to the illustrator as shown below:
To create the basic facial features of Mrs. D the artist should start by taking a look at the actress Jill Wagner. Give her a slightly more pointed nose and blond hair. Look up L’Oreal Paris -Light Ash Blonde for the specific color. There should be a touch of light-gray showing in the roots. Her eyes are brown. She should be using a fairly subdued shade of lipstick.
Imagine this beautiful woman with her hair spread out on pillow and her head slightly turned to her right as if inviting you to join her. Now substitute the streetlamp base for the pillow. Rather than a nice comfortable bed, substitute the brick sidewalk next to a brick crosswalk. She would be wearing a white turtleneck under her raincoat. If another color is needed, then the artist can add a blouse over the turtleneck. Add a small cross on a short necklace to complete the close-up from the EMT's view.
I haven’t decided if there should be a bruise on the visible portion of the left side of her face. I turned the face to hide most of the injury. Evidence of blood from the nose and frothing blood from her mouth should be part of the illustration. Just enough to
indicate a problem but no more. This is not a horror story. I want the illustration to be sensual, except for the brick sidewalk, bruise and bleeding.
My concept focuses solely on the face, but the illustrator is free to expand the view.
I have attached photos of the "actual" crime scene. The photo of the streetlamp is looking from where she ended up. It should have been looking to where she ended up. The lamppost and drain are on both sides of the street and the sidewalk construction are the same. There is no fire hydrant on the correct side of the street.
I have attached an abbreviated description of the fatal blows:
While putting on her coat, she decided to fold a newspaper over one of the deposit bags to act as an umbrella. She tucked the other under her arm and inside her coat.
.... She had her eyes on the ground to avoid the rivulets of water streaming to the drain. The drain was backing up as it had during several of the previous rains. Lightning lit up the sky and the thunder blocked out the normal noise of the city. She never heard the blows coming from behind her. First her rib cage felt the blow breaking several ribs and causing the deposit she hid under her coat to fall on the storm drain. The first blow was immediately followed by a crushing blow to her raised arm and head. The deposit she was using as an umbrella flew onto the sidewalk. The blows had spun her around as she fell against the lamppost at the curb.
As she spun around, she recognized the source of the blows. She would remain conscious long enough to tell the EMTs. Note: the deposit bag falls through the drain.
And the description of the injuries:
Her left hand was next to a storm drain that was under repair....Two of the firefighters were EMTs and immediately started to treat her injuries.....They had determined that she had two major injuries. Any hunter who has ever brought down game with a shot to the lungs would easily identify the frothy blood oozing from her mouth as a fatal lung wound if not treated in time. The victim slowly suffocates as the lungs fill with blood and starves the brain of oxygen. Blood draining from the nose and wound stretching from just below her cheek bone to her right ear did not froth, it was draining from inside the crushed portion of the head.

Opinie o Pracodawcy
“Hossam read my description and incorporated all of the features that I needed. His design stood out in that way from the start. Others responded to emails but since his incorporated the basics up front, we had more time to work the details. ”
