Hello!

Well, we've got three designs, but we don't feel they are quite perfect for our new book, Songwriter's Almanac. We seek a winning design. You will...

1. Look at the three already created with the title SONGWRITER'S ALMANAC.
2. Look at two other similar "COMPETITOR" files. They sell mostly blank journals for people to write in. Ours has more guidance, tips and tricks.
3. Come up with a winning concept that is...

a. A5 size with bleeds 4 color, 4 sides.
b. Warm, familiar, cozy but still cool -- not "cute".
c. Retro or handscripted title/fonts
d. Smaller fonts are better than large
e. Muted, earthy and authentic is better than bold, large, pushy design
f. This is for musicians and songwriters of all ages. These are smart, educated, intellectual people, not children/babies.
g. Incorporate a guitar and/or musical staff/notes. See how competitors do this is different ways. But these really sell well. So what can we learn, but not copy?

For now, leave the back cover blank. Winner will be asked to tweak, add our UPC code and fine print, then deliver all files and source files. Your name also will be credited on the book jacket for design of the cover if you win!
