Hello,

I want a color illustration to spice up our next Safemate newsletter. Safemate is a Norwegian IT/health care company who have experienced a slow market, but now - all of a sudden - experiences a huge demand. The demand in this context should be represented by wind.

I want you to draw an image of a "medieval viking ship" (do a google search to get an idea) with the Safemate logo (attached) covering the sail and maybe other parts of the ship (shields on the side).

A similar task that was done in the future is the attached "Safemate-invasion.jpg" which had an informal and fun expression. You may choose to go for something more formal. Choose your own style. You may draw in digital tools or on paper. I will be using the end result digitally, so it needs to work well as an image on a computer.

I will be looking for an image with personality. Just a viking ship with a Safemate logo will not light my candle. Bring the image to life with people or otherwise!

There may be several ships in the image, the image perspective may be from on board or from off the ship. For reasons mentioned above, the wind should give the ship(s) speed. The ships should enjoy a good sailing breeze. If you can convey the fact that we are moving from bad weather to clear blue skies, that would be a good metaphor for our current situation. Heading for the sun set is a good idea.

I hope that you are attracted by the task and that you will spend time researching and building the illustration. If you decide to embark on this task, I will promise to give you fair and honest feedback so that you will have a clear indicator of how you are doing in the contest. Having not sealed the contest, I will make an effort not to reward copycats.

The "sammenligning5.jpg" just shows our products in a comparison table. We are selling GPS equipment, that could be coupled with navigating at sea, somehow.

Approaching deadline now. I am grateful to every one of you for contributing in this competition. Each these images would serve my purpose, and now Safemate is left with the tough task of picking just one.

When the deadline expires, I will sit down with the rest of the Safemate team (as soon as I can) and have a vote to see which image we will choose. Even though I have provided feedback and stars, the winner will be picked by voting. So even though my personal favorite is #24, the teams decide.

  There is quite a bit of room for creativity here. I added the devices in case you want to use them as elements in the image. I would not mind seeing a design where the devices are used as people, as in Safemate-invasion.jpg!
