Need Logo Redesign For Modern Looking Site

Building a new site and the current logo looks old and outdated. Im looking for something that uses the same color scheme (gold and dark grey/black), and it must include the "crest" (girffins/shield). I dont want it a ton different as the client likes it, just more modern. I think the current font and outline makes it look old the most.

I have uploaded the logo, and you can also check out the header/menu of the new site with the logo if that helps. You will see it looks a little out of place.

Again, not looking for a crazy redesign. Just slight modifications to make it look more modern.
