Opis Konkursu

With the rise of augmented and virtual reality systems, Apple has decided to join the party -- although, it may take a couple more years before the world-renowned tech giant releases their own VR/AR product. The current designs and technology we have today? They’re not impressed.

In fact, they recently filed a patent for a design that uses a catadioptric system for their VR/AR model, which could slim down and reduce the weight added by magnifying glasses, the lenses used in current VR/AR models. A recent article by Nick Statt on The Verge discusses the possibilities for Apple’s potential technology.

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO
Visit the article above to get an idea of what Apple’s vision is all about
Submit a 3D render of your Apple Smart Eyeglasses design
The product should be less bulky and a lot lighter than conventional VR/AR glasses.
Integrating how VR/AR model will work with Apple's OS and ecosystem is a plus!
Be able to explain the concepts behind the design, and don't forget to think outside the box!

THE RULES
All entries must be new and original.
Tell us about your entry in the description field.
You are allowed to submit as many entries as you wish but you can only win once.
Submissions must be in: .JPG or .PNG format.
Image size should be 1920x1080 or higher, and maintain 16:9 aspect ratio.: (NOTE: Entries are automatically resized to fit the platform’s specifications.

70% - Product Design
20% - Originality/Creativity
10% - Description

THE PRIZES
Winner: US$250
Additional entries may also be awarded US$100.

    Funny enough by pure coincidence I watched many youtube on emerging VR headsets last night. The key imo is in a couple of specific factors needed for VR hetset design and also whether the new technology can deliver. I can already "see" the design in my head for a slimline stylishly contoured headset and also how it would process the images given what I read online about apple's efforts. Anyway, just some thoughts, I hope all those who posted sunglasses wake up, lol.

      Continued: Ergonomics given the intended usage situation, that is a big factor which if unknown makes designing a housing like shooting in the dark at an unknown target.

      Yeah I agree with you. It needs far more hardware to do vr device and cant be crammed in sunglasses :D Also Apple stated that they want their device to be the stylish as you can and it will be build when technology evolves. With that being said i still see their vr as a just a bit thicker sunglasses. Contest is tempting!
