Batman is an imaginary personality, a comic book superhero shaped by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. The personality first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939), and since then has appeared principally in publications by DC Comics. Initially referred to as "The Bat-Man" and still referred to at times as "The Batman", he is moreover known as "The Caped Crusader" The Dark Knight”, and "The World's Greatest Detective, among other titles.
Many of us Batfans know Batman is more than just a crime combatant in tights with gadgets. He's an intellectual. He's rationally fine tuned and carries a high IQ. Highly familiar in fields of science, forensics, psychology, human behavior, etc. He knows nearly all forms of martial arts and is an expert in most (if not all) of them. His aptitude to identify his opponents fighting technique allows him to counter attacks and adapts quickly. He's a detective (The thing that gets most overlooked) and designs and makes all of his own gadgets.
