Arduino Heartbeat Controlled LED Setup

Hi,

I'm currently halfway through this project but getting bogged down in the code portion and need to offload it. It's a fairly simple proposition, if the users heart beat is above 80bpm turn on an LED.

I'll start with the cheap low tech solution as I guess most developers wont have access to the hardware I have bought.

--- Low tech solution ---

Basically uses an LED and a photo resistor shone through the finger and measures pulse that way. The tutorial above even includes the code! I just don't have time to go through it all. So if you could get this cheap simple set up working and send it to me/provide me with a link to all the components (they would have to be available in the UK) along with a set up guide that could work. Also the finger enclosure for the sensor would have to be fairly visually appealing or allow me to easily make it so.

So the belt is sending data to the 'Polar Heart Rate Monitor Interface Board' which then converts it to something readable by arduino. However my coding skills aren't quite up to scratch to build the sketch. This sketch would just be something like. If heartbeat > 80 then pin 9 == 'HIGH'.

If you have the confidence to build it without any of the hardware then we are in business, if not I'm willing to work with you on the more low-tech version above.
