Data base, adding limited MS-speech to an existing VB6 program

connected to 1068942...to add funds Scope of Work: 1. Add MS-Speech to an existing VB6 program. This is limited to using speech to fill in textboxes. The program has up to 20 systems (rows) with up to 17 parameters (columns) Textboxes will only contain numbers such as 8.5, 12,900, 30 ect. 2. Add and develop a MS Access database collect data from the above mentioned textboxes. This will include tables for customer account information such as Name address, Contact name ect, Additionally there is a table needed to ‘describe’ the customer. Data is to be stored by Tablet PC user by customer by date. Need to be able to look at a particular system/(s) parameter/(s) over a time frame. 3. Fix a problem with printing existing VB6 program. 4. Add a digital signature box to the VB6 form. (InkPicture control) 5. Splash screen. OOK AT THE DELIVERABLES FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT PROJECT THAT WOULD NOT FIT WITHIN THE 2000 CHARACTERS LIMIT FOR THIS BOX UNDER ADDITIONAL DATA. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ADDITIONAL DATA: 1. The concept is to use a Tablet PC to replace paper forms currently used. Typical usage might sound like the following: Human: “System Parameter 8.5?? Tablet PC: “System Parameter 8.5 Done?? Human: “System Parameter 12,900?? { example 1, 2 , 9 , 0, 0 as individual numbers} Tablet PC: “System Parameter 12,900 Done?? Human: “Damn it?? Tablet PC: “Not Recognized?? …… (could have fun with the response here ?) This is NOT a dictation type speech to text application. The speech recognition (SR) is very limited in scope. Speech inputs are numbers from 0 thru 9 and about 30 words. This is what I mean by limited. This should allow for very , very high accuracy and quick recognition. 2. The MS ACCESS data base information will need to move from remote Tablet PC’s to an office PC. Open to suggestions on how to best accomplish this. 3. Printing problem. This problem arises from printing a form that contains a RichTextBox (RTB) that is large enough to require the use of a vertical scroll property. What I have used is looking at the height of the RTB and figuring out the number of rows that it will hold. At the point were the row exceeds the size of the RTB a second RTB is used to handle the balance of the text. Important point the first RTB contains ALL of the text generated. The second RTB contains only a copy of the overflow and is used for printing only. The first RTB is dynamic in height. This is based on how many Systems (rows) are used for that customer. The problem arises that on occasion I drop some of the text. Like 5 or 6 words on the second RTB (second sheet ) 4. This should be pretty straight forward. 5. This should be pretty straight forward. TIME FRAME: I will leave this some what open. The latest would be 60 days. Earlier is better. Earlier and less expensive is best. Expectations: Full working copy of program compiled. Copy of all parts ect to allow me to compile it. Complete listing of all code WITH COMMENTS ON FUCTION AND PURPOSE. Variables with meaningful names related to the value contained. X,Y,Z ect are ok for counters, but not much else. Remember you may have to support or modify it two years from now!!! OTHER INFORMATION: All work done will be the intellectual property of the BUYER (me). And will be copyrighted by my organization. All programs, techniques ect. Are Trade Secret and shall not be made available outside of the parties involved in this project. You me and Rent-a Coder. There will be a NDA required. It is being prepared by an attorney and will be sent as soon as it is available. Obviously, I would need to make the existing code available. Why am I putting this out on bid. I have to much stuff on my plate right now and I would like to get this done sooner rather than later. I am a small company and to many hats to wear. I am open to suggestions on program improvements. From the description of this project it should be obvious that I wrote the VB6 program. It is not anything strange and uses only the most germane programming techniques. By that I mean no Classes, Subroutines, Functions, API’s ect. I think I used a couple of GOTO’s only because it made the most sense. The program will need to be converted to VB.net. The only thing that I am aware of that would be a problem is that I used Control Arrays for the textboxes in the Systems and parameters. I am a self taught programmer. I use comments on about every line to keep things clear. I do not have a problem changing things if it makes it more efficient, better ways of accomplishing the task or that make it easy to follow ect. Overall the program works well when using the key pad outside of the printing issue. Currently, I am using File I/O (sequential yuk) for data storage and testing. Obviously using MS-ACCESS would eliminate that stuff. This is the first time I have ever done this type of program. If it works well and I get good work done there will be more to follow. SELECTION PROCESS: The bases of my selection will be the most responsive and most competitive in terms of cost and time. On any future work, the three best biders from this project will be invited to bid first. I have at least 3 additional projects waiting on the outcome of this project. VB.net makes most sense only because I know VB6 and learning VB.net but i am not stuck on VB.net. could be C++ or C# i want to stay with MS products where possible.
