Build a "Smart Dock"

The alarm clock will have a built in speaker that will be used for the alarm (obviously) but is also bluetooth, so you can also use it as a bluetooth speaker. At the back you will find 2/3 USB charging ports (with different amp ranges) for different types of products. It will also have a dim night light, which can be turned off. The display will be have the date and time as well as weather and maybe other widgets. There will also be a slot for phones to fit in on the top, which will be a wireless charger.

The mobile app is a way to connect the alarm clock to your house. For example, the app will have spotify integrated or some other sort of music streaming application that will play a certain song for you in the morning rather than a typical alarm sound. It can have access to LIFX, Phillips smart bulbs that will dim the light as you place your phone into the slot of the alarm clock and when the alarm goes off in the morning, the lights will slowly fade in. It can also have the ability to turn up/down the thermostat defending on the time of day.

We want to use the mobile app as the main way to configure your "smartDock" to your liking.

This project may be taken to the next level, we just want to see someone who has experience etc. We will conduct a small interview to see their skills.
