My approach for such a home work is to use struct with an int as a key and an int as a value. struct { int key; // the number entered int value; // how many times entered }; and build a variable length array using this struct, so when the user enters a number, we check the keys and if the entered number is equal the key, we increment the value at the end we get the highest value and that is the most frequent integer.
