Check Image OCR and Excel Export

Problem: We receive PDF documents (sometimes as many as 100 pages) of scanned images of all our checks that are deposited into our bank. We have to manually key those values in. Solution: Create an application that can open/view the PDF, have the user define which areas of the check need to be OCR, store those values for export. There is an attached video which shows the concept of the workflow. Step1: open the application then open the desired pdf 2: The application displays the PDF at 100% zoom (one page at a time). It also lists the page number the user is viewing of the entire document. Example: 1/20 3. The user then drags highlight boxes around certain areas of the check. 4. The application knows, based on which drawn highlight box number, which value should be stored. Here is the order. 1st Highlight = Check # 2nd Highlight = Check amount 3rd Highlight = Invoice Number 4th Highlight = Invoice Amount (the application keeps repeating: Invoice number then Invoice amount... for all remaining highlights until the user clicks new check) 5. New Check stores the values and resets the form. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the user has gone through every page of the PDF. 6. Once completed the user clicks Export, which dumps the values into and Excel file. In the video is an example of the what the excel file should look like.
