Counter circuit with live calculation. I require a circuit which allows two 7 segment displays (display1 and display2) to be individually set to any number between 0 and 9999. A third display (display3) is to then calculate ((display1 * 100) / display2). The user will then be able to manually count display 1 up or down by either units of 1, 5 or 10 base on their selection. Display 1’s value will constantly change based on the users input and display 3 should recalculate to reflect this. Please see the image for a visual understanding of my requirements and ask any questions you may have. I would suggest designing this circuit on two separate circuit boards, one for the user panel and one for the display panel. Additional Requirements • Circuit needs to be Battery powered – Battery size and type to suit circuit design. • If possible, design without the need of a programming logic device (microcontroller or processor). However the cheapest and most reliable method should be used. • Once you have been paid in full, the circuit design will belong 100% to myself unless other agreements have been made. Please state what you will deliver, below are my suggestions. Deliverables: • Schematic Circuit Diagram. • Circuit board layout. • List of all materials, parts ect.. with links to item location on [login to view URL] • Design Documentation. • Simulation of project in video (is possible). • Anything else you are willing to deliver. I have attached a document with some of the parts I consider using. I would prefer all parts are sourced from [login to view URL] Please message me with your understanding of the project, what you will deliver and an estimated time to complete the project.

Hi, This product can be well designed using a micro controller. Discrete component will not be suitable for this purpose because it will become bulky and wont be space and cost saving. I will deliver you the following. 1. Schematic and PCB design files. 2. Firmware and its source codes of the micro controller 3. A working prototype. 4. Guidelines on how to manufacture and program the MCU with the firmware. 5. After sales support for 1 month in case if any minor modification is desired. Please note that the component and shipment cost will be extra for this job. Shipment may take around 60-70$ via FedEx in case if it weighs up to 500 grams and component cost will be as per requirements. It will take one month time to procure components, build the prototype and building the firmware for it. I will definitely try before that for sure. About your project task is tricky and simple . But it consume little time to get the hardware circuit design . We just use very much cheap Atmel processor or some cheap pic which have minimum pin out to reduce the manufacturing cost. Both are fairly detailed and very useful, however I have the following doubts about them and only after clarifying the same I will be able to offer a accurate bid and a realistic time frame. 1. What is the total size of the unit that your are planning on? 2. When you say small / medium / large 7 segments could your provide approx size for these? 3. You mentioned the unit is battery powered - rechargeable? if so do you want battery charging and management circuit included in the design - I would recommend you do this out of experience, but its really for you to decide. 4. I will make the appropriate software for this processor After that, we can progress to building a unique PCB for this application. performing Schematics and layout is not included in this bid. Hi there! First: using of a MCU will be cheapest way and minimal power consumption (which is very important on battery powered devices). Second: how you show on picture every digit of display 1 and 2 will have their own up/down buttons, due to this is not reliable to use different base counter.(maybe I don't understood correctly working algorithm) PS: About delivery, I'll deliver all you need for yourself manufacturing with detailed instructions.

Considering you requirement of small size and cost discrete circuit is is not my option of design. I will do it with cheapest and small foot print micro controller preferably Microchip or arduino(will be more costly) or AVR(from atmel) will be a cheaper option . I will use open source compilers and programmer. Please see below my work exp. I have worked in following areas for last 25 years • Pcb Artwork Layout: Mostly I do my pcb artwork layout in pads(Mentorgraphics). I am also familiar with Orcad ,Eagle,Altium. Right from my first job(back in 1984) I am doing my own artwork layout for my own designs.I started doing with inkpen and paper and upgraded myself to cad. • Electronic design: I have developed many T & M instruments .(Function generator, Linear power supply, Frequency counter, safety resistance meter. Etc) • In power electronics I have worked for almost 15 years. I have developed many SMPS up to 500W with PFC input. I have developed LED drivers from 1 W to 150 W using Power integration IC’sair • I know C language though I am not expert on that but I can trouble shoot the programs and algorithms logically. • I have developed many product using Arduino

Dear Ashheath, You instructions are very clear and neat. According to the requirements, please see my proposal as below: + The system will have 2 separate PCBs (user panel and display panel). These 2 panels will be controlled by only one microcontroller. It is recommended to use ATmega 8 as it satisfies the system requirements at a reasonable and lowest cost. + Two PCBs are connected using a bus. + There will be 3 shift-registers 74hc164 and 3 7447 (BCD to LED 7-seg ). In addtion, we'll use 15 A1015 (pnp transistor) and some resistors. If you are interested in the solution, let's have chat. We have a strong team that have done a number of projects like this before.
