Circuit design and PCB schematics for PWM DAC output

"50-200Hz" frequency determines the output "DAC1 0-5v" "1-10ms" pulse duration, determines the output "DAC2 0-5v" I understand you correctly? questions: as the measurement resolution is needed? possible to use MCU? to generate an output analog signals - is possible to use higher frequency PWMs, or it is necessary DACs?

Hello, I have a good experience with product design with hardware and software and I wish to bid the project. Can you clarify a couple of points? 1. You mentioned 50-200Hz. Is PWM frequence (not pulse width) continuosly varying or is it fixed in one of the frequencey between 50 and 200? The reason why I am asking is in a PWM system a continuosly varying frequency can cause error in the output. 2. For the pulse width and for the frequency, this could be done using a microcontroller that takes the input, measures the pulse width, scales it with respect to time period or total range of the signal and puts out on the DAC. So please let me know if that solution is OK. Thanks Vinod

Hi, I can help with the project. Suggest to use attyny24A and MCP4802/12/22 (depends how accurate you want it to be). It will give you 0-4.096V 2 channel output. Can be in PDIP packages to easy assemble a prototype or in TSSOP/MSOP to make it small. Regards, Dsnejko

Hi I have placed a bid but I need more information on your requirements. - accuracy and resolution of the conversion, for example would an 8 bit DAC be adequate? - Power supply details i.e. what is available to power the PCB? Several solutions come to mind: 1. A microcontroller based design where the conversion is handled by firmware. There are microcontrollers with the necessary timers and dual DACS to support this. In some ways the simplest solution but it will require some additional software engineering and programming of the chip. 2. A discrete timer/DAC based design 3. Hi! I can help you. It's not complex project. I can make your idea using simple MCU, like ATmega88. Input signal will apply to two capture counters. First counter will be used for frequency metering, second - for pulse width. Then we can use values from these counters for generating two separate PWM signal with constant frequency or send on SPI DAC (like AD5025). So, only one or two ic chip will be needed for project. total cost of device will around $14. I can make and send to you working prototype. You can pay money only after check SCH and PCB designs.
