Create db to manage and report 'sponsored links' (similar to google's advertising links at top of search results) Not a search project, just a simple DB.
I need a method of recording and searching the records relating to sponsored links in a search engine.
The attributes include :
search term (100 characters or fewer)
Document title (250 characters or fewer)
URL (may be up to 1000 characters)
Date created (date format MM/DD/YYYY)[default to current date would be preferable]
Expiry date (date format MM/DD/YYYY)
view (what search engine it is in) (20 characters or fewer)
contact name (50 characters or fewer)
Complexities:
each search term may have more than one associated document title.
Doctument title and URL are always linked one to one (never 1 title with 2 url or 1 URL with 2 titles)
## Deliverables
I need a method of recording and searching the records relating to sponsored links in a search engine.
The attributes include :
search term (100 characters or fewer)
Document title (250 characters or fewer)
URL (may be up to 1000 characters)
Date created (date format MM/DD/YYYY)[default to current date would be preferable]
Expiry date (date format MM/DD/YYYY)
view (what search engine it is in) (20 characters or fewer)
contact name (50 characters or fewer)
Complexities:
Each search term may have more than one associated document title.
Doctument title and URL are always linked one to one (never 1 title with 2 url or 1 URL with 2 titles)
Example search term POTATO may have:
1)GOOD FOOD title, www. potato. com URL ; and
2)PLANTS title and www. [login to view URL] URL
2nd Example:search term Vegetable may have
GOOD FOOD title and www. potato. com URL ; and
BEAN title and www. beans .com URL
Each term may be in more than one search engine view. we have 5 views. A,B,C,D,E. The search term may be associated with different titles/urls in each view (although that is rare, if GOLF in A points to [login to view URL], it will almost always point to [login to view URL] in B - but it may also point to [login to view URL] in B.)
I need to be able to return reports that have all titles/URLs for a particular term (example Potato).
I also need a report that has all terms for URL (example [login to view URL])
I also need to return a report of all term/title combinations that expire in any give time frame (month of October, or January & February & March 2012)
Example data:
Title: Winning at Cricket
Search term: Cricket
URL: [login to view URL]
Date created: 08/31/2011
Date Expires: 09/31/2011
View: Federated Search
Contact: Tiger Woods
The search system will then (through an existing application) push this result to 1st position when the term GOLF is entered as a search.
The search engine has poor reporting tool so we will maintain records with this applicaiton temporarily.
