I have an excel spreadsheet with inventory product listings. This sheet may have listings for the same product number in numerous warehouse locations. When a product is delivered and a current location is full, the product is entered on a new row on the sheet with its description and new location and count at that location. The project is to create an access database linked to this spreadsheet so the excel sheet can be searched and reports created. Specifically, I want to create pick lists from orders that come in every day..Product numbers will be entered on a form to search for all the locations in all warehouses for that product, and the inventory count at each location. These found locations will be sent to a "pick list". The next item will be searched for locations, and the results sent to the pick list and appended to the first search list. The operator will repeat this until a complete list is created with all the items to be picked with all their respective locations. An "amount to be picked" field will be provided for each product so that a quantity to be picked can be entered. Then, this list(report) can be printed out. The warehouse worker will use this list to locate and pick amounts required for each item. Warehouse worker will have the option to correct the count at each location should he find it is incorrect. A "Pick List Tab is included in this attached excel, but it does not work reliably. I think it is beyond fixing. The sheet to link will be tab "Consolidated" Thanks, Dave

Hi, Approach: For your project, I expect solution to be on following lines: 1) User form: This will be design on excel and will collect user inputs, which will then be stored in ACCESS DB. This will be connected to various data sources. 2) Access operations: Need to control database operations, (like automated picking of raw data from sources, formatting it to be stored in predefined format). Buttons will be provided in User form sheet to control operations like this. 3) Processing/Calculation logic: Logic will be needed to perform data processing/calculations over formatted data. In my estimation, whole process may take 5 - 7 days for completion. This estimation will also depend (and may vary) on how prepared you are with project draft and related details. I believe I have understood your requirement and can help you in that. [I have worked on similar project before like preparing Management Information System, PWA analysis etc.] My background: I have been working as Sr. pricing analyst since last 4+ years. During this stint, I have worked on projects involving price models, creating competitive information databases etc. In my projects, I work extensively on excel (with 100K rows of data from production sites).
