Dear Sir, I am a structural engineer (specialized in steel structures) and a developer too. I've built something simpler but similar to your description for personal use (I am a designer and a PE in my country and I've built a weight estimating xl worksheet as per european cross sections). From my experience, I can see that your project can be very complicated, since there are many types of steel connections and configurations that have to be taken into consideration. I can do what you are asking for but I would suggest an online application (installed on your website) instead of an excel worksheet. It can be run from any computer of your company, and you don't have to worry about using the right excel file in case of updates. Additionally, reports can be generated directly in pdf format, emails can be sent automatically (with excel it is not possible) and finally it can be expansible (ie you can add cutting optimization, output dxf drawings etc).
