I was really excited to see your project. It's well specified and exactly the sort of thing I love working on. I have been developing Filemaker Pro systems in the publishing industry for over four years. The main project I work on is a very close match to your requirements, including bibliographic information, production costs, sales royalties and workflow tracking.
I'm really keen to work with you and I am confident I could deliver the project within 4 weeks, but the budget you have put seems unrealistic, considering that this will be a comprehensive system. I would say a fair price would be around $1500AUD for the system design. To quote for historical data entry I would need:
1) The number of titles that need to be entered
2) Sample files showing the format the data is currently in.
I'd really like to discuss this further with you, as I particularly enjoy working on publishing projects, so please get in touch if you think we could work together. If budget is a serious issue, we could start from a less complex system, which would be cheaper, and add to it over time if that would help.
