I believe naming a product or company should not only be "catchy" but also give an idea as to what the product/service is. You're smart to require a name not already associated with any other product or company. It will allow you to register your name with the USPTO. Once you have your ™ you'll find it even easier to rank on the first page with Google. I like logo's that are bright and not complicated. There's a feeling you'll have when you see it and that feeling should be positive, not questioning what the meaning of the design is. As for colors; every couple of years there's a new color that everyone's using. Currently that color is purple, it looks great and can really pop a logo but if you're looking for longevity you may want to stay away from trends. Red is also a difficult logo color due to the fact it can be more expensive to produce on certain surfaces. I wish you the best of luck in your search. Dean
