We are looking for someone to create concept art for a Virtual Reality project.
This art work will become the central theme that future 3D assets / environment will be oriented around.
The general theme is 'fear of public speaking'. The concept art should be created to show the perspective of someone making a speech to a group of people 10-30 for the first time. The artistic purpose is to invoke that 'public speaking fear' into the viewer.
We are not aiming for realism. Concepts can be abstract and there are even examples of 'cartoon' work that successful invokes fear.
We expect to review and comment on a few rough sketches before a final drawing / illustration is created.
Successful project will almost certainly lead to more work
- due to the uncanny valley in VR the audience cannot be 'realistic' and should probably be in the dark. Likely only eyes and general body shape will be visible by the viewer.
- The art work will need to cover 180 degrees of audience to the front. The rear 180 degrees will be the curtain / stage. The primary art goal is the 180 degrees toward the audience from the first-person perspective of the speaker. But the rear part must be considered
- knowledge of current VR hardware capabilities is preferred
- knowledge of 3D modelling, creating 3D assets is preffered (as this is the next step)
- will provide some examples to give a very rough idea
- Please direct us to some of your work and we will provide more details
