Code Review: Android Web Service, Progress Indeterminate, w/AsyncTask

I have code that is not working on Android, the application I am writing. The web service is up, and through log.i I can see the web service return a string, but I cannot display the string on the activity. I tried adding an indeterminate progress icon, and using onPostExecute from the AsyncTask to no avail. I would like someone to review and correct the code I am working on in real-time, and help me build this code so it can be a template for all my web service calls in the application. I prefer we use Skype so I can see the code changes as we review. I am happy to provide what I have so it can be corrected during a live review.
In essence, I would like to modularize this code in Android. Any time I call a web service to receive an object, string, int, or whatever value, this Android code can SEND and RECEIVE Web Service data.
