Hello, I can do that. I took some Image analysis classes when I was in university and we did a lot of text detection, I still have those algorithms around and I can adapt them to fit your needs. I will also create a nice application for you so you can process entire folders and have the results showed in a view and/or exported to an excel document if that's something you could be interested in. One thing I wonder is what exactly do you expect? A new algorithm developed from scratch or if building you a tool to do it using existing (free) libraries would be alright for you? Regards

I have experiance in image processing and extracting information from it. Could you please share some images?

This project should be easier than full-blown detection and recognition because the text is always black on either white or yellow; therefore I should be able to find all black pixels bordering white or yellow, then grab all black contiguous with that. Then I can use a stroke width filter to remove whatever else isn't part of the text. This should detect individual characters, which can then be fed into an OCR algorithm to return a character. I'll need any sample images you can get me, as it would help to know where the camera is relative to the plates, what sort of variance in location I can expect, and other information relevant to making the program as fast and accurate as possible.
