We are looking for someone that can built a JavaScript GUI that looks like a dendrogram (tree). See the attached image for a mock up. The tree shows the contents of a photo-website, the branches representing the pages and the leaves representing photos. Because the size of the tree is variable, it should be possible to zoom in or out with an on-screen slider. An Ajax connection will update changes made in the tree to the database. Other functions: - Rearrange nodes (i.e. the order of photos) with drag & drop - Upload new images by dragging them to their destination in the tree - Create a new page by dragging the 'New page' button into the canvas - Delete a node by dragging it into the bin - Edit a node (i.e. the name of a page) by clicking it - etc. The look & feel of the interface should be intuitive and smooth and the interface should work in all modern browsers, including phone and tablet. A number of previous programmers have tried, but not finished the project because it was too complicated. So please only respond if you have experience building complex interfaces with JavaScript. Anyone interested is invited to make a proof of concept, preferably with many nodes to make sure speed and smoothness do not suffer when the tree gets bigger.

Hi, I have worked on several projects that involve client side rendering (rendering on browser). I have used many javascript frameworks. This task is data centric rather UI element centric. We can keep elements as data nodes or edges and links to connect these nodes. I can make the proof of concept for this with a sample of 100 nodes. Note there are few points here. This can be achieved with HTML5 code on desktop/laptop or in other words on computers. Working on the same page with same set of features on mobile devices like phone or tablet is not quite possible. Hand held devices can not handle such a complex pages with real time rendering and refresh. Even a simple GUI with more timers/transitions are not displayed properly on mobile phone browsers. This is because it is running inside a sandbox though it is having more or less equal CPU and memory power compared to desktop computers. So for mobile devices we need to use different light weight page for hand held devices. Thanks!
