Aim : The aim of this project is to develop a LabVIEW program to control two stepper motors, a microwave source and a microwave power motor to take cylindrical Near field measurements.
1.1 Project Overview
This project aims to design a LabVIEW program that will be used in the cylindrical scanning system for Antenna measurements. Theories will be evaluated for the required materials for the proposed project.
Experiments will be conducted using the designed LabVIEW program in order to observe the characteristics of the cylindrical scanning system. The proposed LabVIEW program will be used in simulating the experimental data. The result that is obtained will be studied for an improvement in the LabVIEW program design. A written report will be produced.
2. Objectives
The objectives to achieve the above aim of the proposed project are as follows:
To design a LabVIEW program to control one stepper motor at defined distance, repeat this movement and to return the stepper motor to its original position.
To design a LabVIEW program to control two stepper motors as above
To design a LabVIEW program to set a frequency and power level from microwave source
To design a LabVIEW program to read power meter and store values
To combine the above programs all into a single program.
To use a simulation software (MathCAD) to simulate an Antenna pattern from the obtained data.
To analyze the simulated results in relation to the theoretical results.
To produce a report of my dissertation.
