I need a Matlab code able to analyze very long time series containing different motifs. I want these motifs to be overlapped in separated plot, in order to see the areas where the motifs are different. In the attached file you can find a scheme showing my idea. Moreover, you can find a sample of a real motif that I'm going to treat. Please, take into account that the shapes of different motifs could vary a lot and the code has to be very flexible.

Hello. This is a very interesting job, and I can deal with it. The main problem that I see is the speed of processing. If the data volume is very large, the search may take a long time. To avoid this, I can use the fast search algorithms. But you need to determine the accuracy with which we are looking for motifs. The lower the accuracy, the longer the search will work. But if you want to match 100% of all the significant figures of each point, the search will be as fast as possible. What are your requirements for the interface? How do you plan to enter information on the time series, and the structure of the motives? How many motifs at the same time you need to look for?
