Android (1.5+) Photo Application Project

You will create an application which will download and display photographs (of an adult nature) on android based devices. This application should be flexible enough so that it has the URL of a particular gallery encoded as a constant, but can easily be re-compiled with a different gallery constant. You will need to implement the ability to download a gallery manifest and display images, as well as the ability to display advertising (also via a manifest file). Please Note: We understand that some may object to adult material, and so we are willing to provide a gallery of neutral content (such as cat pictures) for you to work with while developing the application UPDATES: * This application should be targeted to the Android 1.5 (API 3) specification. If you intend to target a different API, please make that clear in your bid * All "baked in" drawable will be added by us, so, don't worry about adding launcher icons, etc. ## Deliverables The application you create will be a photo gallery style application. Application flow is as follows: 1) User launches application. User is presented with an image and title in the top 1/3 of the screen. The bottom 2/3 (roughly) of the screen contain a list (with small thumbnails) of galleries that the user can browse. 2) Selecting a gallery takes the user to a new screen (probably a new activity) which displays a gallery of photographs. You may use the gallery widget, although it will probably need some dressing up. Each photo in the gallery also has some method to launch an intent to a specified website (e.g. via an options of context menu). In addition, each photo in the gallery should include the capability to be set as the user's desktop background (again, via a context menu or similar.). 3) There should be the ability to set a constant which will pop and advertisement (also delivered via an online image) up over the gallery at the specified interval. Each ad manifest will contain 0 to many ads. If there are no ads, do nothing. If there are several ads, pick any one. Whenever and ad is run, you will also post to the specified URL (ad display notification). And that's it! Other notes, The exact structure of the application and gallery definition files is not yet set in stone. Below are three EXAMPLE files. We think they're a pretty good definition, but they can be changed if you like. Furthermore, while they are currently JSON, they can be delivered in any any format that we can write a php definition for (XML, JSON, CSV, whatever). Time is running out!", "link":"[login to view URL]", "when_run":"[login to view URL]" } ] } In all manifest files, the hypermedia constraint will be followed (e.g. all links will be fully formed URLs, and not just stubs). If this application is successful, the winning coder will be given the right of first refusal to add video features to it, but that is another project. Finally, if you cannot make a particular image become the desktop image, please note it in your bid, and it will be considered. Please don't say you can unless you know you can.
