Need a messaging program, for a few users who are deaf who share computers, that has a database connected to it that will allow users to see information about each other (including pictures and brief bios). If a user sees someone who they want to send a message to after finding them in the filterable database, they should be able to press a button in the database and have the message sent via an email type program. The receiver of the message will have to look at a separate projection screen near them to see if their name is flashing or if the screen says they have received a message. They can then go over to a workstation and read and, if need be, reply to the sender. The sender then sees their name flashing on the screen or the screen says they have received a message. When the user reads the message their name stops flashing on the main screen. Each user has to logon to the workstation each time they report in. They can then edit their info in the database or put in initial information into the database. We will have several different/rotating workers each week who are deaf, so the system has to not only keep track of the users (active or inactive), but also be fairly easy to use. Is there already a program like this? If not, I'm looking for bids from reasonably priced programmers as I'm paying for this myself.
