BBPCS #10: Draw 10 TV's

**Get paid for artwork you've already done!** We sell TV's online, and we want to replace all of the pictures with hand-drawn artwork. It is critical that all art is *done by you*, and not copied from somewhere else.

We are going for **speed and quantity over quality**. These drawings will be shown at very tiny sizes, so they can be done quickly, without a ton of details. Figure on spending 15 minutes per drawing.

The image shown on the TV itself should be something that you've drawn/painted/etc., and may be part or all of a piece that you've done in the past, as long as you have full rights to the image, and are willing to transfer all rights to that image to us. For example, you may have painted an image of a festival before, and you could "cut up" that image into smaller pieces that each fit into a different TV.

This project covers ten TV's. If the relationship goes well, we have many, many more that need to be done.

Because we have run into difficulties in the past with people who submit artwork that they did not create, we are going to ask you to "audition" by submitting one sample TV as part of your bid. Read details below. **Warning:** If the quality of your work for the actual project does not match the quality of the "audition" in your bid, we will be forced to conclude that you are not the same artist, and **we would be forced to submit the project to RentACoder Arbitration.**

## Deliverables

**For your audition**, you will submit one file showing one TV. **The full project** covers ten TV's, each one submitted as three different files, as described below.

**For your audition**, you will start with [this][1] picture of a Sony KDL-52XBR3. **The full project** will involve you searching for good images of the TV's that I specify by model number. The best places to find these pictures will be [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and PriceGrabber.com. Sometimes you will find different angles (perspectives), sometimes you won't.

**For each TV, there will be three components:**

* Draw/paint/sketch the TV itself. Use a completely white background. Shadows are ok. Try to use a *slightly* different angle and a *slightly* different light source direction than the photograph that you use as a model. The intent here is to demonstrate that you did not simply copy the exact image using software. _This is very important, since the entire point of this project is to satisfy the legal owners of these images that we are not violating their copyrights._

* Place some art of your own design in the "screen" of the TV. I'm pretty flexible here, but the artwork needs to be family-friendly (of course), and it's also important that it be *bright and colorful*, and reasonably realistic (photo-like).

* Place a faint "watermark" of the URL, "[login to view URL]", (using that exact capitalization), which partially covers the lower right corner of the TV, and continues onto the background. This may be done mechanically, using software.

**For your audition**, simply submit one file showing your work, and you are done. **The full project** requires three JPEG-format files per TV with the following exact requirements.

Take the TV's model number (not including the manufacturer), turn any lower case letters to capital letters, and remove all spaces, hyphens, and other separator characters; this string now becomes the "base" for the following steps. For example, if you are working on the Samsung "Jumbo 2000-XL", the base string will be "JUMBO2000XL".

Create three files. The first file is a 400x400 version of your art, named by appending "[login to view URL]" as a suffix after the base string. The second file is 200x200, with the suffix "[login to view URL]". The third file is 100x100, with the suffix "[login to view URL]". So, for the above example, you'd create the three files, [login to view URL] , [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] . The file extensions must be ".jpg" and not ".jpeg".

* * *I'm pretty flexible and easy to work with. I tried to make sure that this job is as completely specified as humanly possible.

If you have **any** questions, *please* ask them! I have found that it is far better to risk a bit of embarrassment than to spend time working on an assumption which later proves to be wrong. Do not worry that a question may seem silly; just *let me know* and I will be very happy to answer you!

We've been a Buyer here since July '05, with a rating of 9.9 ("Excellent") out of 10, with over 75 ratings, and we've now paid on over 95 jobs. We've completed both security verifications, we have a non-action ratio under 5% ("very good"), and we've lost 0 out of 10 mediations / arbitrations.
