Need to develop extension to the firefox browser. This extension seems to be called a preference toolbar in some of the things I've read. Based on my understanding, javascript is used for the basics of the toolbar, and we'd want to keep the javascript as simple as possible, and have it interact with a .dll created using Delphi 7.
The toolbar would include:
1) A button which when clicked would call a function in the dll, passing the text/html from the currently displayed web page
2) A button which when clicked would call a function in the dll, passing text/html that is highlighted (selected with mouse) on the currently displayed page.
3) An Options button, which would display sub-menu of options, each one calling a separate function in the dll.
4) A dropdown list. Values for this list are retrived from the DLL, and selection returned to the DLL.
The DLL itself will mainly be a shell that we would add actual functionality to later. A working example of the toolbar for Internet Explorer will be provided to give you a better idea of what it needs to do.
DLL should be developed in Delphi 7 (could possibly accept Delphi 5) and no 3rd party components should be used without prior approval.
Would also need details installation instructions for extension.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in Javascript and dll form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
