Company Information Search

This project will require you to find information about companies and enter the data into a spreadsheet. I have detailed the process in collecting the information in the attached file.

## Deliverables

In this project you will need to find company websites, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, first and last name of the person running the company, and write a brief description of the company (4 to 5 words).

I am attaching the excel file with the list of 100 companies that I will need you to find this information for. As you will find once you look at the spreadsheet, many of these companies already have a majority of this information completed in advance. So in this case, you will just have to find the remaining information for that company.?

Below you will find detailed instructions on how to simplify the data collection process to get the best results. These instructions are also included in Word format in the attached file.

Here are some detailed instructions on how to find theinformation I’ve requested about companies.

First off, you need I have either provided you with thecompany’s name or the company’s website. If I have provided you with thecompany’s name and no website, then you will need to find the website. To findthe website for an example company “General Electric Company??, type into yourbrowser (Google) and type “General Electric Company?? with the quotations orwithout the quotations. This should find you the company’s website prettyeasily. If you are unable to find the accurate website this way, try typing in“General Electric Company?? Fairfield Connecticut. So this go around you typedin the company name in quotations to make sure you find that exact company andyou included the City and State of where the company is headquartered. If youare still unable to find a website this way, type N/A in the blank. Also if Ihave provided you with the company’s website and no name, then you will need tofind the company’s name.

Second, to find a company’s mailing address take a lookat the three examples below:

1)For example on tofind the address and more information about"[login to view URL]", go to the bottom of the page andclick the link to the site's "privacy policy". Generally the companywill supply its physical address there. So once you click the privacy policylink, it will tell you the company's address.

2)Example 2: To findthe mailing address for "[login to view URL]", click on the tabson the top right and see if any of them have a mailing address. If you clickthe tab "Billing" it tells the company's mailing address.?

3)There will becompanies like "[login to view URL]" thatare really difficult to find the address of. Perhaps try searching on thebrowser "MMA Prediction League" and see what comes up and it mayinclude an address.

So all in all, to get the company's information, it ismost helpful to just search every tab on the top or bottom of a website.

Third, you will need to write abrief business description for each company that doesn’t have one. I want abrief 4 to 6 word description of what each company does. I have provided anexample for the first one. For example "Agri Laboratories, Ltd." issimply a company that provides "Animal Health Products". Thisdescription can be found normally on each company's homepage or under the"About Us" for other companies.

Fourth,now for finding the company contact names. Take alook at the many examples below as this will be the most difficult part foryou.

1)"[login to view URL]",simply by looking at the tabs on the left side of the page, you see the tab"Medical Director" and it gives the name " Alimorad FarshchianM.D." Now that is the contact that I want you to list and under title justwrite "Medical Director". Now this may not be the case for allwebsites though, because most companies in the list are not medical related.

2)Next example:"[login to view URL]", go to the website [login to view URL] and enter"[login to view URL]" into the blank called "Who Is Lookup". Nowchange the box on the right side of the blank from ".com" to".net" to match up with the ending of this particular website. If youare lucky, it will list a name under "Registrant". In this company'scase it does list a name and it is "Kevin Casebier". This name willsometimes be the founder or owner of the business. So simply for this company,go to google and type Advanco "Casebier". By making it find thecompany and the person's last name, the search will sometimes pop-up saying theperson's position in the company and if they are affiliated with it. In Kevin'scase, the search found that he was a Managing Director of Advanco from hisLinkedIn profile.?

3)sometimes it can behelpful to look up a company on [login to view URL] "better business bureau".For this example, I am going to use the company"[login to view URL]". Use the zip code that youalready found for the company "74145" and click submit. Now you willget to a page for the particular city you are looking in and now click"Check out a business or charity" in the middle of the page. Afterthat it will take you to a page where you type in the company's name. Under"Business/charity name", for this company type in "CompetitiveBusiness" and click search. You don't have to type in the full name of thecompany for the search. This company will pop up "Competitive BusinessService aka IMS Business Service" and by verifying the address, you knowthis is the right company. Now scroll down to "Principal" and most ofthe time you will get the name of the owner of the business. For this companythe result was "Ms. Teresa Jones, Owner"?

Here’sanother helpful way to find company’s owners on google. For example, for thecompany “Advanco?? you can type into your browser any of these 1) “Advanco??President 2) “Advanco?? Founder 3) “Advanco?? Owner 4) “Advanco?? CEO. This shouldmake your task much simpler.
