For over twenty years, my life was centered around adventure tourism and travel. My summers were spent on the river, guiding whitewater enthusiasts down challenging rapids, while in the winter months I conducted overland desert tours.
This type of work is fun and exciting not to mention addictive, but like all good things there are always the drawbacks. Beyond the physical toll this work has on a body, seasonally employed tour guides earn low wages and generally don’t contribute funds into a retirement account.
Old river guides don’t die, they just keep on floating downstream. Wanting more out of myself and my future, I stowed my river gear and began the arduous task of gaining an education and starting a career.
During my heyday as a tour operator, I began to create a virtual travelogue by videotaping and photographing many of the scenic and historical sites I visited, so when the time came for me to reconsider my path in life, it was only natural for me to pursue a career in media production.
While earning my Mass Communications Degree I had the great fortune to join the crew of CNM Sports. Working out of a Live Truck we covered a variety of sporting events including, Little Britches Rodeo, Professional Bull Riding, Colorado State Fair Concerts, Demolition Derbies, Colorado College Tiger Hockey.
