In our rails application we enable users to submit multiple types of feedback in a project. We currently have a facility for managers to create email campaigns for the users involved in each project. These emails go out at intervals from the user sign up date.
We need the ability to create conditional emails that goes out within the messaging centre. One such conditional email is one where after a particular date, if the user has created their first piece of feedback(any type of item) they are sent one type of message congratulating them. If they have signed up but haven’t posted their first piece of feedback within the time that this message should go out, they are sent one of two messages. In the case that there is already existing content by other users in this project, they are sent an email saying that other users have posted content. In the case that there isn’t, the email will just say that they should share their feedback.
The functionality you would be creating is
- Adding these three types of messages to our existing list of messages in the messaging centre.
- Each one has a condition attached to it and thus is not sent if it doesn’t meet the condition.
- These three messages are automatically added to the list of messages in the messaging centre for every new project. Similarly how we currently have two post invite/post sign up default messages for every project.
- Managers should be able to re-add these three message types similarly to how they can with other messages.
We have detailed documentation on how the current messaging centre works and thus expect the business logic to be added within the messaging centre.
Please include what your approach would be to implementing this addition.
You must be familiar with ruby and rails development. Must be familiar with either cucumber and/or rspec testing frameworks as we require tests to be created to prove that the features work.
This is a small project that will help us get this needed functionality into our web application. This project is also a way for us to build a relationship for future work with the accepted candidate. This will get you familiar with our web application and open up the way for future ongoing work with us.
Background on us:
We are a start up that's building tools for information organization, feedback, and collaboration in the enterprise.
We're using rails 3.2 and jquery. Couchdb is the database that we're using.
Upon acceptance of the project we require an IP agreement be electronically signed.
Ideally this should take just a few hours to complete (on a rough estimate without seeing the code). I can start immediately, if you want. Just let me know. Regards, Eric
