I'm looking for a developer to create an API framework to accept data from external content providers. The API will need to have key and privilege based authentication. Our platform is based on Python. The front end components are in Django, but the backend is all Python and MySQL. You will work closely with the CTO in the design and implementation of the API. The code will need to be robust and handle multiple external developers accessing it on a regular basis providing base level content to our platform The methods have been defined as well as the data model. I'm looking for someone to implement the API methods and provide all test scripts. More details will be provided upon successful bid. This is my first attempt at freelancer.com, so questions are welcome.

Hi, I'm bayuadji, a python/django developer. I've saw your project description, so you will want to developer an API that can be used by 3rd party. here's some thing that I would do: 1. I think it's best if we're using REST based on HTTP, its easier for the client, because it's only HTTP. 2. since we're using REST, so we can still use DJANGO for our endpoint, and using either django-tastype or django-rest-framework. 3. authentication usually bit tricky, but I think we can use simple approach by using key in header authentication and IP firewall. of course there's other approach as well, and I open for discussion (but please don't use SOAP :), its painfull working with SOAP in python ) my rate is 15$, and I'm available at the moment for 12 hours a week. I suggest that we do a small milestones as a test (2-3 hours), see if I match your expectation or not. that's it from me, looking forward for further discussions regards -adji-
