This project is intended to create a custom short video for participants in 5K or 10K races. The races will have thousands of participants and therefore thousands of these 'highlight videos' will be automatically created based off of up to 4 video recordings taken at specific points along the course.
Essentially, all participants will be wearing RFID timing chips that record the time that they cross specific points along the course. At these points, an HD camera will continuously capture video as runners pass through. The idea is to take the recorded time of the participant and match it up with the recording and automatically cut a 10- or 20-second clip from that recording. Therefore, each participant will have 3 or 4 clips that need to automatically edited together along with background music and an intro containing a logo, name, and some personal information of the participant.
In other words, the program needs to process up to 4 HD recordings of about 8-10 hours and use the timing information in excel format to capture clips and create the personalized videos.
All of these videos will then need to be uploaded to either a free online video site (Youtube) or something similar (I'm open to suggestions). The final result should be the original excel file with links to the personal videos in the row that matches that participant.
