Hello,
We have a Christmas themed book in English that needs to be translated into the following languages:
- German
- Serbian
We will be picking 1 Native speaker from Germany and 1 from Serbia to translate the entire book. We are looking for 2 people who really have exceptional talent in creating something that truly sounds natural in their native languages. This is serious project and we are looking for professionals or exceptionally talented people with a bit less experience.
The book consists of small stories and a number of small quotes. We are looking for somebody who can truly commit to this project for a few months at least.
It is not important to literally translate the stories or the quotes as they are, but to grasp the point and meaning of it and to translate it into something that sounds natural and brings out the warmth of the holidays and Christmas.
We are expecting a large number of people to apply, so we will give a small test that will help us find the right candidate, so consider this test as an elimination round. After we pick the people who did the best sounding natural translation of the quotes below, we will proceed to individual interviews. Keep in mind - the people to be picked for this job will become part of our regular team and thus will keep receiving regular work, so take this test seriously.

If you are Native German speaker, please translate these into German. If you are a Native Serbian speaker, please translate the quotes into Serbian. The translations that manage to depict the warmth of Christmas in these small quotes will move to the next stage of individual interviews.
Keep in mind - Please put your focus on the test task. If we don't like your translations, we won't be reading the rest of your application.
Once again, this is a serious project, so we are looking for seriously talented people and are willing to pay fairly for your hard work.
