The main purpose of the assignment is to create a watermark and insert this into an image; each student will have a different image, image type, and size. Students will have to input the image into MATLAB and convert this to a grayscale image in order to work with the image and speed up computation times. The effect of the watermark on the image will then need to be investigated to see if it can be detected by the naked eye etc. After the watermark has been inserted, noise will then be added to the image to see how this affects the watermark and the image as a whole. A noise removal methodology will then need to be devised in order to clean the image and restore it back to its original state as much as possible. After that, increase the noise density as much as possible and investigate the limits to which noise removal is still effective. Higher marks will be awarded for the higher noise densities that are investigated.
