We are a dynamic and fast paced UK based inbound marketing agency and we are looking for a number of content writers for some blog posts we have forthcoming. We are looking for editors with impeccable English who have good experience in editing in a persuasive, engaging and personable way, being able to keep the tone of the copy you're editing. It's important that you are comfortable with all types of content for editing. The position is part-time to full-time (20- 50 hours a week), paid per number of articles we agree on. Requirements: Impeccable English Experience as an editor in different areas Able to edit different subjects Able to improve the language and grammar, but keep the tone and style if necessary Good sense of how marketing and sales work - you'll be working closely with managers, but a marketing sense is a really big bonus. Able to work full time (20 - 50 hours)- if you can only provide a few hours per work, you won't be a good fit. Follows instructions - write 'I create magic with words' at the top of your cover letter Responsiveness Adherence to deadlines When applying, please answer the following questions: 1. What kinds of projects/companies did you edit in the past? 2. Why did you choose editing in particular? What makes you tick there? 3. How would you handle a project with a tight deadline of midday the following day, when you realise you're going to be pushed to reach it? 4. In response to your questions: Editing experience: All marketing documentation, copy, contracts and client letters at my previous job as marketing and sales manager in a medium enterprise. I even corrected the lawyers! Mistakes creep in... As a freelancer, I have edited a lot of academic papers and a couple of websites written by non-first-language writers - as well as work for certain other freelancers who needed help. Also brochures for an optometry company in Australia. Why editing? I like to see correct work that my clients can be proud of. Pushed deadlines: If humanly possible, I will do this myself. Even if it means working a 14 hour day. I've done it before. In fact, I do it a lot! If NOT possible, I will call on one of two friends - an English Teacher or a Journalist who sometimes help me. But I would inform you as to what I am doing, and I would check all work. Edit: Live the work-life balance of your dreams. Build a sustainable online business. Increase your income and reduce your stress. (Light edit to retain tone, but increase ease of reading) ALTERNATIVE: Client would have to indicate how heavily they want edited.
