Grant researcher and writer

Project Nicaragua is a 501c3 nonprofit organization incorporated in 2007 with the mission to improve the quality of life in Nicaragua through community engagement activities that include, social entrepreneurship, donations of medical and educational equipments, and health surveillance of local communities. We are currently looking to hire an individual who could help find and write grants relevant to ongoing projects. The projects in need of funding are listed below in the order of priority: 1) Clean Cookstoves: Replacing wood/coal burning stoves with clean cook stove that are intended to reduce the risk of burns, inhalation of smoke and carbon dioxide, and use of wood. The project include gathering surveys, analyzing data, monitoring progress and the effectiveness of the stoves. We are seeking grants to help fund the equipment (stoves), travel and lodging expenses, and to expand the study to include more families in Nicaragua. 2) Cerro Verde Land Grant: Looking for a grant to help purchase a plot of land valued at $3,500 (US). The land will be used to rebuild a school that was destroyed by recent flooding in a small impoverished community of Cerro Verde. The grant is to help purchase the land. Funding to rebuild the school has already been found. 3) Sewing Center and Bakery: We provide microloans to create small businesses that are managed by local community members and that hire students from local schools in Nicaragua. The goal of the initiative is to encourage and empower female students.
