My favorite food is a very heavy and spicy ancient Hungarian food, the stuffed sour cabbage with smoked sausages and bacon. To prepare this strange and enticing food needs more than 6 hours but I've learned to make the sour cabbage at home myself. You have to ripen the previously grated cabbage, then have to ripen this for 3-4 days. The whole leaves of the cabbage you can cook in hot water to soften, and you could stuff these leaves with grated pork-meat. If the sour grated cabbage is ripe enough, you can boil them in hot water for 5 minutes, after that you put the boiled sour cabbage into an oven pan with the ham or bacon and sausages, and on top, you can set the stuffed cabbage leaves. It's worth to cover the top with cream thick. You have to bake it for 4-6 hours at very low temperature, preferably in a furnace. Unfortunately, I always eat it all at once!
The food very ancient, the first recipe what I could find was from the Middle Ages. But if I only think of it, brings the water to my mouth. The taste recalls my homeland.
