To implement a non-standard Modbus protocol using pymodbus.
The message structure to read the hold register data given by the manufacturer is:
address(1byte) + func. code(1byte) + Serial No:(10 bytes) + start reg:address(2 bytes)+length( 2bytes)+ checksum

There is an addition of 10 bytes of serial no. after function code. This is the serial no of the device.
Can you implement such a modified Modbus protocol using pymodbus.
Can sm1 do by sharing an example simulation (generator) using [login to view URL]
To test the example with a virtual serial port driver (implementing both master and slave).

Hello, The additional field will make the checksum formula changed also, but no need to change the package stop byte as it is by stop bytes detector. So yes it is easy to modify. Best Regards, Khamid
