Hi everyone! I am the director of a non-profit called Human Connections and we are building an online store to connect products made by Mexican artisans to an international market. You can see the store demo (made via a WooCommerce plugin integrated into our Wordpress site) here: [url removed, login to view]
We would like your help creating a customized algorithm for the WooCommerce shipping calculator. We are using DHL to ship our products and want to customize a transparant and fair shipping calculator. This is the shipping formula we want:
(Actual DHL total package shipping cost) - [($5 x items in "Category 1") +($10 x items in "Category 2") + ($15 x items in "Category 3")]
1. Actual DHL total package shipping cost = the real value of shipping the package, which is determined by the total weight. We have these values though are unsure of how to link them in this formula.
2. We are integrating $5 into the sales price of "Category 1" items, which are lightweight items. We are integrating $10 into the sales price of "Category 2" items, which are mid-weight, and so on. This strategy will allow us to integrate a reasonable piece of the total shipping cost into the item price so that the shipping cost does not appear to be as high as it actually is.
3. The problem is: we don't know how to create this formula in WooCommerce. Do you?
