What you describe would normally be about a $100 project and anyone quoting less may be falsely leading you to charge more at the end claiming extra revisions or poor requirements up front. I'm willing to take the time at the start to clarify exactly what you need and map out what the solution would look like and how it would be easy for you to use. For instance, is the list of students easily defined and maintained each year or should the summary for mail-merge be dynamic and pull the unique list of names from the detailed data entry of occurrences? A dynamic list may slow the performance of the spreadsheet. When delivering the final version, I would also assist you in the first mail-merge to ensure it works as needed.
