Build a Website

I need a new website. I need you to design and build it. Most people if they chose to can just go out and meet their friends on a whim at a local bar, or event, but this isn’t the case for most people who deal with mobile limitations. They have to plan their outings in advance, and this website will be a resource for them so that they can at least know what they’re getting into. If they have questions or concerns about accessibility issues with a certain business, venue, etc. that they’re interested in going to this website will address all of their questions or concerns. As I stated previously, one of the biggest things for people with mobile limitations is planning ahead of time when they’re getting ready to go out. This website will collect information from users, who will submit details about an establishment, business, venue, park, etc. In a sense it will be similar to the forum “yelp”; with a star rating system. Users will have the ability to rate a place from 1-5 stars, and write reviews that are solely based on how accessible a particular place is. The little details are what’s important, so every event or place that’s on the website will answer very detailed questions. The questions will include, but aren’t limited to: • Are there stairs, if so how many, how wide and how steep are they? • Does the establishment have ramps? How many and what type? • Is there a working elevator, if so how big or small is it? • Are there working automatic door openers? And its’ proximity to door? • Are elevator or automatic door opener buttons blocked by stands or trash cans? • Does the restaurant have accessible seating and tables? • In a bar is there an accessible bar or counter that’s low enough for a person who uses a wheelchair or scooter? • Are registers adaptable so that individuals with mobile limitations can swipe their credit card or sign for purchases? • Are there sidewalk cutouts around the establishment? • How many accessible bathroom stalls does the establishment have? • Are doorways wide enough? At the end of the reviews, and questions, users will be given the ability to either book that business, or skip it. If they chose to skip it, the website will automatically move on to display the top 10 or 15 recommendations for that day or week. However, if they chose to book it, the user will be taken to a page with the businesses address, website, and contact information. The website will keep track of when a user books a place, so the day after their booking, the website will ask/remind the user to rate their experience with accessibility. If an establishment has good reviews and 5 stars for more than 2 weeks, it’ll be added to the recommendations list. The website will also contain photographs of ramps, stairs, stair lifts, railings, accessible tables, accessible bars, sidewalk cutouts, location of door openers, elevators, door widths, location of accessible bathroom stall, sink height, location of toilet paper holder, and seat covers, soap dispensers, etc.
