The following is a brief overview of how we see the PROPOSED Mobile App being implemented for the mobile device markets. Please itemize your estimate by task and platform, including pricing for development of apps for the OS, Android, Windows and Blackberry devices. Also, include pricing for simultaneous code-sharing development that can take place, such as when a development tool such as Titanium is used that would reduce the development time and effort.
The primary reason for the mobile app's existence is to enable viewing of member information that has been downloaded from the CLIENT website database. All member information entry takes place on the CLIENT website by the member, and as the mobile app is for viewing of information only, the content on the mobile device is non-editable.
The mobile app is a shell for displaying the member information. Our intent is to have limited information downloaded from the CLIENT website database to the mobile device at the time the data is entered on the website. The update of the mobile app's data will not take place when the member accesses their mobile app, but at the time of the data entry on the website. Therefore, if mobile connectivity were to be lost, the member would still have access to their most current information on their mobile device. Essentially, the member's profile is frozen as static information to be displayed when the PROPOSED App button is activated.
Again, each time a member updates their information on the CLIENT website, this information is downloaded/pushed to the mobile app for static display
The mobile app consists of only one screen which is to display a three-line statement, a continuous form containing member data and one enlargeable thumbnail photo (optional) of the member. A header will identify CLIENT and a text link will link to the CLIENT website. These are the only elements for the mobile app.
Installing the PROPOSED Mobile App on a Mobile Device
Several alternate approaches may be taken concerning the acquisition of the PROPOSED mobile app by a member. Please address these issues in your proposal and how they are applicable for each device platform.
1) Upon registering on the CLIENT website, the member would have access to a link, that when pressed, automatically activates the app and displays the app icon on their mobile device. This approach by-passes the app store.
2) In addition to item 1) above, please suggest alternate activation scenarios.
Promotional Pages for App Store / Android Market / Other Markets
If the PROPOSED app exists as an item in an app store, there would be an initial scrolling “Info” page that presents an overview of the service. This page includes the service price and a link to the website for a complete description, registration and purchase. There is to be no purchase made within the app store, the purchase takes place on the website.
(Up to four additional “screen capture” pages could be used in the info section. If implemented, these would be static pages furnished to the developer.)
Graphic Content and Skin Creation
As I am familiar with content creation and having reviewed several templates, I will create the visual portion of the application, following creation guidelines for all platforms. I may seek some, but limited consultation on areas that may be in question.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have or suggest an alternative approach to those indicated above.
