Project Brief:

To develop a system that creates a representation of the sensor data from UTS building 11 (available at [login to view URL]). Your system should allow interaction, exploration and sense-making with this representation. You should provide a number of parameters by which the representation may be customised. No particular format is expected, and novel or lateral representations are encouraged.

Data: You can use the API directly, by following the instructions, or you can download a dataset which will be made available here, and do a static version. You can use a single sensor, a number of the sensors, or all the sensors. You will need to consider how to import, translate and then map the data.

Explaination:

This project is to be done in Processing.exe. Incorporating various libraries such as controlp5, beads, minim is fine and could be encouraged.

The idea that I have is to create a data visualisation using the data of "people sensors" in the eif website.

This is a sample link for the people sensors:

I wanted the system to be able to take the data there in CSV format to then plot out a scatter plot graph or some sort of visualisation regarding the people entering in the building.

The focus will be to show users the clear difference in amount of people pre-covid lockdown and after as shown in the data that the number of people abruptly decreases.

I have attached a screenshot of the data as a graph from the site link above. I want users to then be able to hover on the "dots/ellipses" to display the exact amount of people. There should be more interactions involving clicking or hovering around the graph.

A slider would be nice and a button that could maybe pop-up an image of a covid-news.
