Write Linux Script

Requirement: write a Linux script There is an .ear file which connects to multiple legacy systems based on ip/name and port no. We can deploy multiple instances of same .ear with manual modification to allow to start N no. of test instances. Need is to automate this process. 1. ask user to provide : (a) Enter Test Region Name : Example abctestsystem (b) Enter Port No: Example 9999 2. ask user if wants to check-out source code from repository (yes/no) if yes : check-out latest code from svn repository from a defined path into /app/test/pj/01 directory else if no : use the code already available under /app/test/pj/01 directory 3. make changes as required : few examples mentioned below - update test_region_name in [login to view URL] - update port_no. in config,properties ---- similarly, there are some such small changes we may need in java and properties files to avoid duplicate instance error while we deploy multiple ears on same jboss server. This to be taken care via script. 4. run maven install to create .ear file giving the absolute path to [login to view URL] 5. copy the ear file from /target and paste into another directory /app/test/pj/02 and rename Example : if ear is create as [login to view URL] then rename to [login to view URL] 6. later we will add code to auto deploy newly create .ear on jboss i.e unmanaged deployment.
