Excellent E-Commerce Website Design and Online Shopping Cart

We are a new company specializing in handcrafted and machinecrafted quilts, baby blankets, placemats, totebags, teddy bears, handkerchiefs, tablecloths, wall hangings, handbags, custom and non-custom household items, etc. Our primary revenue source will be through an e-commerce website. Some important points for this project that we'd like to establish are as follows: 1.) The website must have a logical format and design 2.) The website must be very professional looking and visually impressive to enhance visitor confidence in our company and the products that we sell 3.) The website should be written and designed in such a way that it will be easy for us to maintain. We should not have to sift through code to update products, images, catalogs, product descriptions, categories, content, etc. I do not have much time to develop a thorough and all-encompassing requirements document so we need someone who is patient, artistic, creative and able to utilize his/her own expertise and experience to provide input and ideas to prototype and deliver a high quality product. Also, we would like some (reasonable) flexibility with regards to changes in scope since, during development, we expect that both the developer and ourselves will come up with new ideas and requirements. As a rough idea of what this project entails, please review the following: 1.) A well thought out shopping cart with all the bells and whistles. We will need this to be secure as we will be accepting credit cards and other forms of payment. Also, we should allow the buyer the option of saving their billing information for quick checkout options the next time they make a purchase 2.) Inventory should be visible tohe user. That is, if something is in or out of stock, the potential buyer should be advised accordingly 3.) The designer should be able to design and deliver high quality graphics and a logo. They should deliver prototypes based on our ideas as to what the logo should look like. The developer should also provide input on these ideas and make recommendations. 4.) The catalog should be searchable 5.) The catalog should be easily updated with new products, descriptions, categories etc. Possibly there could be an admin peice that will be delivered with the final product. 6.) There are a few custom items that we sell which will require the buyer to establish/select the options he wants like colors, size, style/type, pattern, etc. We will provide the specs and the products that will require this. Think of "build while you buy". For example, when a product that is customizable is selected for purchase, the buyer is given several options for size, and then is given options for type/style, and then is given options for colors, and then design, and then embroidery options etc. 7.) The solution should allow the user to sign up (become a member of our website) to recieve monthly news letters, promotions letters etc. 8.) When an order is placed, we will need that order to come to us electronically in an invoice format. All purchase information should be saved to a database as well and we should be able to access these invoices on-demand. 10.) We have other domains which we would like to redirect to the domain we will be using. 11.) The designer/developer must be able to configure and setup the database on the web server 12.)
