We have two fortigates installed in Australia on HA (active-active) mode. And, two in Indian office with same settings. These fortigates have vpn tunnels with each other. Also, these fortigates have two WANs at both ends with some routing configurations. A dual mount server has been installed with operating system of pfsense. The plan is to replace fortigates with pfsense on (active-active HA mode) on these two servers. The configurations on the new pfsense router should be same as they are now on fortigate. The minor difference will be that the fortigate WAN1 should be made pfSense WAN2, and fortigate WAN2 should be made pfSense WAN1. Once this transition is successful then the pfsense router will be implemented in Indian office in September (a separate job at that time).
